PLO celebrates arch-terrorist: “Abu Jihad died a Martyrdom-death… [he] carried the pride of the Palestinian people”
Headline: “The National Committee marked the anniversary of Abu Jihad’s Martyrdom-death”
“The Palestinian National Council (the legislative body of the PLO) marked the 27th anniversary of the Martyrdom-death of Khalil Al-Wazir ‘Abu Jihad,’ one of our nation’s most prominent historical leaders, in appreciation of the sacrifice he made for the revolution and the Palestinian cause. In an announcement to the press today, Wednesday [April 15, 2015] the Council said that ‘Abu Jihad died a Martyrdom-death as a commander and a fighter who carries the pride of the Palestinian people. At this time, we are in dire need to adhere to the principles of the school of the revolution, which was established by Martyr Abu Jihad within the souls of the rebels, and is based on loyalty, purity, revolutionary vigor, dedication and the sacrificing of life for the cause.’”
Note: Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks. These attacks, which killed a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
