Fatah: Imprisoned terrorist and political leader Marwan Barghouti is a "fighter" who was "kidnapped" by Israel

“The leadership, the people and the fighters of the Fatah movement in the homeland and the diaspora sent a greeting of appreciation and pride to the great national leader Marwan Barghouti on the 13th anniversary of his kidnapping and capture by the occupation forces.
In an announcement published by Fatah's Information and Culture Commission today, Monday [April 20, 2015], Fatah stressed that brother Barghouti, the Fatah Central Committee member who was kidnapped by the occupation forces while serving as a leader and a resolute fighter from the heart of the battlefield, during the second Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005) sets an example of a strong national leader, who refuses to succumb to the occupation state but adheres to his people’s rights, goals and basic principles.
The leadership and members of the Fatah movement, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, stressed that they would not rest or spare any efforts until the release of Marwan Barghouti and all our heroic prisoners, standing firm in the occupation’s prisons, with [their] heads held high for the sacrifices they have made for the sake of their people and their cause.”
Note: Marwan Barghouti - serving 5 life sentences for orchestrating three shooting attacks that killed 5 people: one in Jerusalem (June 12, 2001, 1 killed), another in Givat Zeev near Jerusalem (Jan. 15, 2002, 1 killed), and one in Tel Aviv (March 5, 2002, 3 killed). When arrested in 2002, he headed the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction). After he was convicted and imprisoned, he was re-elected member of the Palestinian Authority parliament.
