“The Fatah movement stated that the attack on Supreme Shari’ah Judge Ahmad Halil (on May 22, 2015, while giving a sermon in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, members of the Islamic Liberation party disrupted his sermon forcing him to stop in the middle and leave. One of them accused his country of giving Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Jews intentionally serves the goal of the occupation state, which is to Judaize the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and is a violation of the values of Islam and national ethics. The movement emphasized in its statement published by [Fatah’s] Information and Culture Commission yesterday [May 23, 2015] that it is necessary to isolate, purge from our midst, and demand accountability from the attackers and their ilk, who use religion for their interests and their worldly and partisan benefit. Likewise, it emphasized that the activities and conduct of the members of the groups, organizations and political parties, which are coordinated with the activities and conduct of the extremist settlers must be exposed, as their goal is to Judaize the Jerusalem Noble Sanctuary (i.e., the Temple Mount) in preparation for seizing control of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
