Official PA daily op-ed: Murderous Israeli government policy is “successor to German Nazism and Italian Fascism,” Israel is “fascist, Nazi” and is committing a “holocaust”
Op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, columnist for official PA daily
Headline: “Infant Dawabsheh exposed their fascism”
“In the early morning of July 31, 2015, the Zionist fascism reached a new turning point with the act carried out by the Israeli settler herds, who set fire to the home of Saad and Mamoun Dawabsheh in the village of Duma in the Nablus district, burned one-and-a-half-year-old Ali to death, and also burned four of his relatives. This catastrophe in the village of Duma occurred concurrently with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s personal announcement about the construction of 800 settlement [housing] units in the West Bank, including 300 units in the Beit-El settlement that lies on the lands of the Ramallah and El-Bireh district… This extremist right-wing policy of Netanyahu’s government, successor to German Nazism and Italian Fascism, which is reborn on the ruins of the bodies and blood of the Arab Palestinian people, could not in any way have expanded and broken out in the Arab Palestinian land without the silence and support of the US, Europe, and the entire world, including the official Arab regimes. Apparently, the condemnation statements made by the Israeli occupation and aggression state were only meant to conceal the ties the West has forged with Israel. This is because this world [the West] built its culture on the foundations of ancient and modern settlement, and sees in Israel the extension of the policy of dividing and tearing into pieces the peoples of the Arab nation, in addition to its role as a front line in service of the goals of the entire West, and the US in particular…
Fascist, Nazi Israel is only above international law thanks to the discriminatory policies of the West and the US in particular and now is the time – not tomorrow or the day after – to respond to the holocaust Israel is committing.”
Duma arson attack - On July 31, 2015, two Palestinian houses in the West Bank village of Duma were set afire by Molotov cocktails thrown through their windows. 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh was killed in this attack, his father, Saad Dawabsheh and mother, Reham Dawabsheh, died of their injuries later. The only survivor of the attack was the couple’s other son, 4 year-old Ahmad, who suffered burns on 60% of his body and is being treated in Israel. Israeli leaders and citizens from all sectors of society condemned this attack, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that all Israelis were disgusted by the crime, adding, “We will not countenance terrorism of any kind.” He ordered the security forces "to use all means at their disposal to apprehend the murderers and bring them to justice forthwith."
Israeli Police is treating the attack as a nationalistic crime carried out by Jewish extremists in revenge for Palestinian terror attacks. In early December 2015, Israeli police arrested several Jewish extremists who were believed to have been involved in the attack, and in January 2016, Israel indicted 21-year-old Amiram Ben Uliel, a member of the radical Jewish group “Hilltop Youth,” with three counts of murder, attempted murder, arson and conspiracy to commit a nationalistically-motivated crime. Ben Uliel confessed to police that he carried out the attack in revenge for the killing of Malachi Rosenfeld, an Israeli who was shot and killed in a terror attack in the West Bank. A minor whose name remains under a police gag order was also charged.
