“President Mahmoud Abbas greeted First Secretary of the Workers' Party of [North] Korea, First Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, Marshal Kim Jong-un in honor of Liberation Day [of North Korea]. In his telegram, the President wished leader Kim Jong-un an abundance of health and happiness, and progress and prosperity for his nation. In addition, he expressed pride in the historic and strong friendship and mutual respect between our countries.
The President emphasized our constant striving to develop and strengthen these ties, and our great appreciation of the stances of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, which consistently demonstrates solidarity and supports the rights of the Palestinian people and its struggle for freedom, independence and the establishment of its independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”
