Grand Mufti of Lebanon: Palestinians are being religiously persecuted by Israel, which wants to "destroy the Al-Aqsa [Mosque] in order to search for the alleged Temple"

"Grand Mufti of Lebanon Abd Al-Latif Daryan stated during the holiday sermon that: 'The takeover and the expulsion [of Palestinians] from homes began with the occupation of Palestine, and that since 1967 we [Palestinians] are being religiously persecuted. They [the Israelis] divided the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs) in Hebron and now they want to destroy the Al-Aqsa [Mosque] or to divide it, saying that they want Palestine to be a homeland and a state for Jews only, and that they want to destroy the Al-Aqsa [Mosque] in order to search for the alleged Temple! ... What do people live and die for, if not for the homeland and for the religion?'"
