PLO official: Stabbing attack in Jerusalem was “natural response”, calls to “continue the resistance in all its forms”

Headline: “Abu Yusuf: Our people will continue on the path of struggle”
“Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front and PLO Executive Committee member Wasel Abu Yusuf condemned the Israeli policy of escalation being implemented by the occupation authorities against our people in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank… and stressed that the Palestinian people will continue on the path of struggle with all means in order to protect its land and holy places, and will arm itself with its legal and natural right to resist the occupation by all means, a right stipulated by international bodies and the UN Charter and its decisions…
In addition, he stated that the escalation of [Palestinian] popular resistance and the Martyrdom-death of the two youths in occupied Jerusalem, Muhannad Halabi and Fadi Samir Alloun, as well as the following invasions of the cities and villages of the West Bank, the settlers’ attacks against West Bank villages under the protection of the occupation army and the wounding of several citizens, compel us to come out against the Israeli schemes, stand up against the aggressive attack, defend our land, and continue the resistance in all its forms. Likewise, he welcomed the actions of popular resistance, especially the stabbing attack in Jerusalem which was a natural response to the crimes of the occupation.”

Muhannad Halabi killed 2 Israelis, Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi and Aharon Bennett, and injured Bennett’s wife, Adele, and their 2-year-old son in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. Following the attack, he was shot and killed by Israeli security forces. Prior to his attack, in a post to his private Facebook page, the terrorist referred to recent terror attacks as part of a "third Intifada,” and said that it was a response to Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and that the Palestinian people would not “succumb to humiliation.” This is a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to the PA's portrayal of Jews praying on the Temple Mount as "an invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Fadi Alloun stabbed and injured Israeli citizen Moshe Malka (15) near the Old City in Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. He fled and was shot dead by Israeli police.

PA leaders and officials have legitimized Palestinian violence by quoting UN resolution 3236 which "recognizes the right of the Palestinian people to regain its rights by all means." The PA interprets "all means" as including violence against civilians, but has chosen to ignore the continuation of the resolution which states that the use of "all means" should be "in accordance with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations..." The UN Charter prohibits targeting civilians, even in war. Chapter 1, Article 1, opens by saying that "international disputes" should be resolved "by peaceful means."
