Abbas justifies violence and murder
as "protection of holy sites"
Abbas, after Palestinians murder 4 Israeli civilians:
"The Palestinian side... did not do anything against the Israelis... that is our right. We have to protect our holy sites"
Abbas' advisor:
Stabbing murder of two civilians in Jerusalem is "heroic operation"
by Itamar Marcus
After ongoing Palestinian riots, which have including shootings, stabbings, and rock and Molotov cocktail throwing - as well as the murder of 4 Israeli civilians - Abbas last week justified it all as legitimate defense of holy sites:
"The Palestinian side did not attack and did not do anything against the Israelis. If they [Israelis] think that the [Palestinian] people in Jerusalem are protecting themselves, that is our right. We have to protect our holy sites." [Official PA TV, Oct. 6, 2015 and Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 7, 2015]
Abbas then attacked Israel's defense measures against Palestinian terror:
"The Israeli government is escalating its strong offensive against the Palestinian people everywhere... Honestly, we do not know what the reason is for this."
Abbas made these statements on Oct. 6, 2015, less than a week after Palestinian terrorists murdered 4 Israeli civilians.
Meanwhile, Abbas' advisor Sultan Abu Al-Einein explicitly glorified murder on his Facebook page. He called the stabbing murders of two civilians in Jerusalem, and the injuring of the wife and 2-year-old child of one of the victims, a "heroic operation." He also posted the picture of the stabber, and "saluting" those "protecting Jerusalem" he wrote: "Kiss their foreheads, and do not forget their hands."
Abbas ended his speech claiming he wants quiet and blaming Israel for the violence:
"We do not want a military and security escalation between us and them [Israel]... We do not start and we do not initiate. Israel has to cease and accept the hand held out to it."
Background info on the two terror attacks in each of which 2 civilians were murdered:
On Oct. 1, Israelis Naama and Eitam Henkin were murdered in a shooting attack on the road between Itamar and Elon Moreh, near the Palestinian city Nablus. Their four children, aged 9, 7, 4, and 4 months, were also in the car and witnessed the murders, but were not physically injured. Five Hamas members were arrested by Israel and confessed to the murders.
On Oct. 3, 2015, Palestinian terrorist Muhannad Halabi, 19, attacked Israeli citizen Aharon Bennet, 21, and his family, who were on their way back from prayer at the Western Wall through the Old City of Jerusalem. The terrorist killed Aharon and Israeli citizen Nehemia Lavi, who came to the family's aid, and injured Aharon's wife and 2-year-old son. Following the attack, the terrorist was shot and killed by Israeli security forces. Prior to his attack, in a post on Facebook, the terrorist justified his killings as did Abbas, stating that the attack was a response to Israel's actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This echoes PA incitement and is a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosqueand to the PA's portrayal of Jews praying on the Temple Mount as "an invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
The following is a longer excerpt of Abbas' statement and Al-Einein's Facebook post:
Mahmoud Abbas: "In these difficult days, the Israeli government is escalating its strong offensive against the Palestinian people everywhere...
Honestly, we do not know what the reason is for this, since the Palestinian side did not attack and did not do anything against the Israelis. If they [Israelis] think that the [Palestinian] people in Jerusalem are protecting themselves. That is our right. We have to protect our holy sites, Islamic and Christian. If they think to divide the Al-Aqsa [Mosque], it is unattainable, and they will not succeed...
We do not want a military and security escalation between us and them. We do not want that. We do not want that. We do not want that. We said it clearly. All our orders to our [security] forces, to our organization, to our young and our public, are that we do not want an escalation. We wish to defend ourselves. How should we react when a group of settlers attack a village? How should we react? Keep away from it! We do not start and we do not initiate. Israel has to cease and accept the hand held out to it."

"Page in honor of Jerusalem and saluting those within it
The lions of Allah in Jerusalem are protecting it
Kiss their foreheads, and do not forget their hands"
The last thing the Martyr wrote on his Facebook page, 21 hours before he carried out his heroic operation was: 'According to what I see, the third Intifada (i.e., Palestinian wave of violence and terror against Israel) has already broken out. What is happening in Jerusalem is what is happening to our holy sites and the place from where our Prophet [Muhammad] set out on his Night Journey (i.e., the Al-Aqsa Mosque), and what is happening to the women of the Al-Aqsa [Mosque] is what is happening to our mothers and sisters, and I do not think the people should succumb to this humiliation."
