Two articles appeared in the official PA daily last Wednesday, glorifying the previous day’s murders of Israeli civilians in a shooting and stabbing attack on a bus and in a run-over and stabbing attack. The official PA paper did not with one word condemn these or any of the recent terror attacks against Israelis. Nor has Abbas or any other PA official publically condemned any murders and attacks. On the contrary,
PA and Fatah officials continue to portray all attackers as victims of Israel, and encourage continued violence and attacks as Palestinian Media Watch has shown.

One article in the official PA daily described the murder of two civilians on bus 78 in Jerusalem as “a self-sacrifice operation” and glorified one of the terrorists as a “Martyr.”

"The occupation police stated in their notice that the Magistrate's Court in Jerusalem issued a gag order on all information or details regarding the self-sacrifice operation carried out by two young Palestinians inside an Israeli Egged bus next to the Armon Hanatziv settlement in the southeast of the city. As a result [of the operation] one of them died as a Martyr (Shahid), and two settlers – one of them a Jewish rabbi – were killed."

Hamas’ student movement the Islamic Bloc in Gaza celebrated this attack with a video reenactment showing
two terrorists stabbing and shooting Jewish bus passengers.

The front page article of the paper described this and another terror attack in detail and referred to the dead killers as “Martyrs”:

“Two young people died as Martyrs (Shahids) and a third was seriously wounded in two operations (i.e., terror attacks) in occupied Jerusalem – the first inside a bus with firearms, the second by means of a car whose [Palestinian] driver crashed into passersby and then attacked them with a knife. Three Israelis were killed in the two of them…
Israeli sources stated that the first operation (i.e., terror attack) was carried out by two young people on bus line 78 in East Jerusalem, and that two Israelis were killed in it.
They added that one of the attackers opened in gunfire inside the bus, in which there were 15 people, while the second carried two knives.
A short while later, a driver crashed into passersby next to a bus parking lot on a street of religious Jews in western Jerusalem, and then got out of his car and attacked them with a knife. As a result of this, one person was killed.”

The attacks referred to are the following:

Jerusalem line 78 bus terror attack - On Oct. 13, 2015, two Palestinian terrorists, Baha Alian (22) and Bilal Ranem (23) boarded Israeli bus no. 78 in Jerusalem's Armon Hanatziv neighborhood with a gun and a knife and attacked passengers, killing 2 and wounding 4 Israelis. One of the terrorists was shot and killed by an Israeli security guard at the scene and the other was wounded.

Car and stabbing attack - On Oct. 13, 2015, Palestinian terrorist Alaa Abu Jamal deliberately drove his car into people standing at a bus stop on Malchei Yisrael Street in Jerusalem, hitting three people. Yeshayahu Krishevsky, 60, was killed and the other two were injured. Abu Jamal then got out of his car and started stabbing people, wounding others. The terrorist was killed by a security guard. He was a relative of the terrorists who murdered 4 worshippers and a policeman in the Har Nof synagogue in November 2014.

The following are longer excerpts of the reports:

Headline: "Two young people died as Martyrs and three Israelis were killed – the occupation decides to destroy homes, revoke identity cards, and encircle [Palestinian] Jerusalem neighborhoods"

[Israeli] rescue workers said that 3 additional passengers were injured.

One of the two who carried out the operation died as a Martyr, while the second was injured by the occupation police's gunfire. Muhammad Mahmoud, the Addameer Association lawyer, clarified that the Martyr is Baha Alyan (22) and the second Bilal Omar Ghanem (23), lies in a hospital…

A short while later, a driver crashed into passersby next to a bus parking lot on a street of religious Jews in western Jerusalem, and then got out of his car and attacked them with a knife. As a result of this, one person was killed, and another person was lightly injured. Sources said that one who carried out the operation was Martyr Alaa Abu Jamal.”

Another article in the same edition of the official PA daily also described in detail the two terrorist attacks and referred to the perpetrators as “Martyrs.” In addition, this article referred to the bus attack as "a self-sacrifice operation."

Headline: "Occupied Jerusalem: Two Martyrs and dead and injured Israelis in a series of shooting, stabbing and running over operations (i.e., terror attacks)"
