Headline: “Erekat demands an immediate investigation of the field executions against our people”
“PLO Executive Committee member [and Fatah Central Committee member] Saeb Erekat demanded that UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions Christof Heyns conducts an immediate investigation of murder cases of some of our people in the recent weeks, of which the occupation state approves.
Erekat stated yesterday in a press release: “We sent Mr. Heyns a telegram today [Oct. 18, 2015] and officially demanded that he conducts an immediate investigation of the cases of murder of our people, of which the occupation state approves.’
He stated: ‘[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s attack on [PA Chairman Mahmoud] Abbas is a failed, deceptive attempt to distract from the fact that Palestinian civilians, including children, are systematically targeted by the occupation forces, as part of the extrajudicial executions…’
In an interview with Radio Mawtini Erekat stated yesterday [Oct. 17, 2015]… that ‘the Palestinian people is defending itself, while the occupation state, Israel, is defending its occupation and its settlements, carrying out an ethnic cleansing plan against the Palestinian people…’
Erekat stated that the fact that the occupation government refuses the presence of international observers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a proof that it has got something to hide.”
