Fatah official opposes Hamas’ call to militarize the “uprising” because international community won’t support PA if it uses violence

Headline: “Hamad: Al-Zahar’s call to militarize the Jerusalem uprising is evidence of agreements between Hamas an Israel”
“Fatah Central Committee member Amal Hamad stated that the declarations of Hamas leadership member Mahmoud Al-Zahar concerning the militarization of the Jerusalem uprising, proves the existence of direct and indirect agreements between Hamas and the Israeli occupation government…
Hamad warned: ‘Militarizing the intifada and the peaceful popular uprising will result in the world accusing the Palestinian people of “terror,” loss of security control, and anarchy, and subsequently the collapse of the Palestinian Authority and the deepening of the rift between the Palestinian Bank (i.e., West Bank) and the Gaza Strip.’ In addition, Hamad mentioned what the Palestinian people experienced in the first Intifada (i.e., Palestinian wave of violence and terror against Israel, 1987-1993) and the second one (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005), as the first intifada had stronger impact due to its peaceful nature. She also mentioned how the international and regional sympathy faded away and how every PA institution was attacked following the militarization of the second Intifada.”
