PLO Executive Committee member Saleh Rafat: “Yes, it is in contact. I hear from time to time that they say that the factions are not in touch [with the uprising], and that the young people are not in touch [with the leadership]. Who are those students in Birzeit University, and the university students? They are student groups of PLO factions, who participate in these activities in protest of the Israeli attacks in order to discourage them [the attacks]. After all, the [Israeli] crimes that are carried out primarily in Jerusalem, and after that throughout the West Bank, provoke the feelings of every Palestinian.”
