PA daily cartoon: Rock is "best friend ever"

Both the PA and Fatah continue to encourage rock-throwing against Israelis. The above cartoon in the official PA daily states that the rock is the "best friend ever" of Palestinians. Abbas' movement Fatah also continues to applaud and encourage rock-throwing. A recent post on Facebook showed a masked Palestinian throwing a rock with a slingshot and the text:

On Twitter, Fatah posted a cartoon encouraging rock-throwing. The cartoon, which commemorates deceased Palestinian cartoonist Baha Al-Bukhari, shows a Palestinian couple. The man is holding a rock in one hand and waving the Palestinian flag in the other, and the woman is raising two fingers in a V for "victory."

Palestinian Media Watch reported that PA Chairman Abbas awarded Al-Bukhari with the Palestine Order of Merit for Culture, Sciences and Arts in October 2015, explaining that his work "fits Palestine and its resolute and full culture."
Baha Al-Bukhari was a cartoonist for Al-Ayyam newspaper. Some of his cartoons encouraged Palestinian violence against Israelis and reinforced PA libels against Israel and Jews. Al-Bukhari died on Oct. 29, 2015.
