Speakers at PA university forum says the "intifada" should be directed by the political leadership so it can be used for political benefit

“The Al-Istiqlal center for strategic research at Al-Istiqlal University held a political forum yesterday [Dec. 8, 2015] titled ‘Implications of the Palestinian Intifada, two months after its outbreak, in light of local and regional changes’… [PLO Executive Committee member and Fatah Central Committee member] Dr. Saeb Erekat, [military expert] Dr. Muhammad Al-Masri and Dr. [of political science] Amna Badran spoke at the forum, which was headed by Dr. Yasser Abu Hamed… The speakers emphasized the dangers in continuing the intifada without the political leadership’s direction, especially [the dangers of] not utilizing the immense sacrifices our people are making, without achieving accomplishments in the field or in the political sphere.”
