Abbas honors terrorist mass murderers
Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Authority Chairman:
"I send greetings of honor and esteem to all the prisoners in the occupation's jails. First of all to the veterans, and to the chief prisoner, Sa'id Ataba and to the [imprisoned] political leaders: Marwan Barghouti, Ahmad Sa'adat, Aziz Dweik, Jamal Hweil, Jamal Tirawi."
Note: Sa'id Al-Ataba - was serving a life sentence for being the commander of the military unit that planted explosives in a market in Petah Tikva (July 6, 1977). One person was killed and 33 were wounded. He was released in August 2008 as a gesture to the PA after serving 31 years in prison.
Jamal Tirawi - serving a life sentence for murder in a cafe suicide attack.
Marwan Barghouti - serving five life sentences for orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli civilians.
Ahmad Sa'adat - serving a 30-year sentence for heading the PFLP terror organization. A song at a PFLP event also praised him for planning the assassination of Israeli Minister of Tourism Rehavam Ze'evi in 2001, but he has not been tried for this crime.
Aziz Dweik - Chairman of the Palestinian Parliament, Hamas.
Jamal Huweil - member of Palestinian Parliament.
