PLO official: “The Palestinian leadership must… embrace the intifada in all its details”
Headline: “Dr. Abu Yusuf: We must embrace the intifada in all its details”
“Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front (PLF) and PLO Executive Committee member Dr. Wasel Abu Yusuf said… in an interview with the Al-Quds [TV] channel that the leadership must implement three strategies – the first: Ending the rift and restoring unity [between Fatah and Hamas], in regard to embracing the popular intifada together with its embrace by the parties, along with guarding its continuity and advancing the general boycott of the occupation. The second: The continuation of the international efforts to end the occupation and the strengthening of all the processes and tools connected to prosecuting the occupation for its crimes. The third: the regularization of the situation of the PLO institutes and convening of a meeting of the [Palestinian] National Council (i.e., the legislative body of the PLO) for this purpose. Abu Yusuf emphasized that the stance the Palestinian leadership must take at this time is to embrace the intifada in all its details, and said that the blocking of last Friday’s procession is unacceptable and is not the PA’s strategy.”
