Poem at Fatah anniversary celebration in Gaza: “We did not write in ink, and not in pencil… we wrote with a machine gun, and we etched the headlines in blood”
Official PA TV Fatah Launch (Intilaqa) celebrations
Unidentified speaker of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, Gaza:
"We did not write in ink, nor in pencil, nor in colors,
We wrote with a machine gun, and we etched the headlines with our blood
Brother, give me an AK-47 (assault rifle), a pistol, a hand grenade, an ax, and a knife
Whoever heard us or didn't hear us, has to know who we are
We starved but did not bow down, except to the Master of the Universe
Yasser [Arafat] lived among us
And as the years pass
He is present on 11/11 (i.e., the day of Arafat’s death, Nov. 11, 2004)
O always among us
We have not seen such a man as our leader
Tell me: Who is like you? Who?”
