“The people of the village of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah, accompanied the bodies of the righteous Martyrs (Shahids) Anas Bassem Hammad, 20, and Muhammad Abd Al-Rahman Iyad, 21, to their graves in the village’s cemetery… Ramallah and El-Bireh district Governor Laila Ghannam addressed Martyr Anas’ father, who is imprisoned in the Ofer [prison], and said that Palestine’s people accompany his oldest son who died for Palestine and its freedom to his wedding as a Martyr (i.e., Martyr's funeral is considered wedding to the 72 Virgins in Paradise in Islam)… At the moment of bidding him farewell, Martyr Anas’ mother addressed her husband, the prisoner, and said: ‘Your son Anas has lifted our head up all over Palestine’ and continued: ‘I am holding up despite his absence and your imprisonment, and consider him a Martyr at Allah’s side. We belong to Allah, and to Him we return. Your son is the handsomest groom accompanied to his wedding to the Dark-Eyed Maidens (i.e., the Virgins of Paradise) today [Jan, 4, 2016]."
Anas Bassem Hammad – 20-year-old Palestinian terrorist who rammed his car into 2 Israeli soldiers, injuring them, near Ofrah, north of Jerusalem, on Dec. 4, 2015. Hammad was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers.
Muhammad Abd Al-Rahman Iyad – 21-year-old Palestinian terrorist who tried to ram his car into a group of Israeli soldiers in Silwad, north of Ramallah, on Dec. 18, 2015. After they warned him to stop and he instead sped up, he was shot and killed by the soldiers.
