Fatah leader Jibril Rajoub said this week that he and the Fatah movement “bless and encourage” Palestinian killers of Israelis. Such murderers, like Muhannad Halabi who stabbed two Israeli civilians to death, are “heroes and a crown on the head of every Palestinian.” Rajoub, Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee, said this on the anniversary of the launch of the Fatah movement:

“Yesterday in Hebron, they escorted 17 Martyrs to burial. This is of course a source of pride for all of us. I say that whoever carried out individual acts of heroism, we in the Fatah movement bless and encourage them. We consider them heroes and a crown on the head of every Palestinian. At this point, when there is weakening and frustration, there is a group of people, beginning with our brother Muhannad Halabi (i.e., murdered 2) and ending with the last Martyr... There is a competition between individuals. This is one of the issues we need to address - are we for or against it? I say that we in the [Fatah] Central Committee have discussed this matter, and we are in favor."
[Official PA TV, Jan. 2, 2016]

This is not the first time Rajoub has supported terror and murder. Palestinian Media Watch reported that Rajoub already has congratulated terrorists who have killed Israelis in the current terror wave.

Similarly, Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki has repeatedly endorsed the numerous Palestinian stabbing attacks against Israelis during the current terror wave. He said that even Allah himself "loved" the stabbers and "took them to Him" - as they died as "Martyrs" when they were killed while attempting to murder Israelis. It is striking that at the same time that Zaki praises them for stabbing Israelis with knives, he says these attacks is "peaceful popular resistance:"

“By the sacrifices being made now by our young people, with rocks and knives... We are now witnessing a phenomenon called peaceful popular resistance. How? These young people, youth, believed in Allah and Allah loved them and took them to Him, but their funerals are greater than those of the leaders and the sympathy for them is great.”

Zaki has also praised the young Palestinian terrorists for “taking action” and responding to the call of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that “we cannot take it any longer.”

Palestinian Media Watch reported that Mahmoud Abbas, in September 2015, sparked the beginning of the terror wave, saying on official PA TV that Jews have “no right to defile” the Al-Aqsa Mosque and vowed that “we will do everything in our power to protect Jerusalem." Abbas then encouraged Palestinians to die as Martyrs, “blessing” “every drop of blood that has been spilled for Jerusalem,” defining it as “clean and pure blood, blood spilled for Allah.” Abbas promised that “every Martyr (Shahid) will reach Paradise, and everyone wounded will be rewarded by Allah." [Official PA TV, Sept. 16, 2015] Since then, Mahmoud Abbas has justified Palestinian violence and murder as "protection of holy sites," and referred to the Palestinian terror wave as “a peaceful uprising.” He made this statement on Nov. 16, 2015, when Palestinians had already murdered 14 Israelis and wounded 167 in 65 stabbings and 8 shootings, numbers which have since risen. Abbas Zaki also lauded the stabbers and rock-throwers for choosing to die as “Martyrs” and to “march... the illuminated path to Paradise.” He commended them for “making Israel worry, with rocks and knives” and causing Israelis live like under a “curfew,” in fear of leaving their homes:

“From where did the reaction come when [PA President] Mahmoud Abbas and the political leadership announced that we cannot take it any longer, in other words, that we will not agree to a PA without authority and an occupation without cost [to Israel]? Who took action? The young from the Oslo generation who are in the prime of their youth did, [those] whom Allah chose and loved. They chose the path of Martyrdom (Shahada). Yes, they marched of their own will on the illuminated path to Paradise. They succeeded in making Israel worry, with rocks and knives, and in imposing a curfew on several parts of our occupied land, the so-called State of Israel.”

The PA and Fatah have expressed similar support for the stabbing attacks throughout the terror wave. PMW reported that the PA has named a road after murderer Muhanna Halabi who stabbed two people to death, and the Fatah student movement decorated a Christmas tree with his picture. A poll found that 2/3 of Palestinians support stabbings

In a recent speech to Fatah members in Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) leadership member Talal Abu Tharifa also spoke with satisfaction of “the new generation young people in the streets” who “respond to the fascism of the [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu government with bare chests, rocks, knives, Molotov cocktails and car rammings, on the way to the third popular intifada to expel the occupation and the settlement colonialism.” [Donia Al-Watan (independent Palestinian news agency), Jan. 1, 2016]

The following are longer excerpts of the articles mentioned above:

Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee Jibril Rajoub: “Yesterday in Hebron, they escorted 17 Martyrs to burial. This is of course a source of pride for all of us. Muhannad Halabi - 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist who killed 2 Israelis, Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi and Aharon Bennett, and injured Bennett’s wife, Adele, and their 2-year-old son in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. Following the attack, he was shot and killed by Israeli security forces. Prior to his attack, in a post to his private Facebook page, the terrorist referred to recent terror attacks as part of a "third Intifada,” and said that it was a response to Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and that the Palestinian people would not “succumb to humiliation.” This is a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to the PA's portrayal of Jews praying on the Temple Mount as "an invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Member of Fatah Central Committee, Abbas Zaki: “The Palestinian people, whom Allah created to be strong, cannot surrender like the other [Arab] regimes that saw Israel as a natural state in the region...
From where did the reaction come when [PA President] Mahmoud Abbas and the political leadership announced that we cannot take it any longer, in other words, that we will not agree to a PA without authority and an occupation without cost [to Israel]? Who took action? The young from the Oslo generation who are in the prime of their youth did, [those] whom Allah chose and loved. They chose the path of Martyrdom (Shahada). Yes, they marched of their own will on the illuminated path to Paradise. They succeeded in making Israel worry, with rocks and knives, and in imposing a curfew on several parts of our occupied land, the so-called State of Israel.
The Israelis seemed confused, and the moment the number of our Martyrs reached 36 [UN Secretary-General] Ban Ki-moon, [US Secretary of State John] Kerry, and the world began to take an interest in us, in order to stop the popular uprising, as they did during our big intifada in 1987, when women, children, elderly, and rocks broke the barrier of fear, and rebelled against the strongest military force in the region. Today history repeats itself. Our young people have forced [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu - who stated that Jerusalem is the eternal united capital [of Israel] - to place cement blocks in order to separate Arabs and Jews, as he did in Jabel Mukaber. Blessings to Jerusalem, to the young people of Jerusalem! ...
Yasser Arafat has been reborn and the crusade continues. The blood, the sweat, and the tears will be a minor matter when the hope for the return and the establishment of a [Palestinian] state with Jerusalem as its capital is realized. When a state is established and we take Jerusalem, the Zionist idea which inspired their hearts will collapse and they will leave, defeated, because they created the myth according to which Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria are The Promised Land, and they are Allah’s chosen people. They will not be Allah’s chosen people, Ursalim (i.e., infrequently used Arabic name for Jerusalem, parallel to Hebrew name) will be nothing but Al-Quds (i.e., more common Arabic name for Jerusalem), Samaria will be nothing but the Mountain of Fire (i.e., nickname for Nablus), and Hebron will be nothing but the capital of rage, until liberation.”

Member of Fatah Central Committee, Abbas Zaki: “This is a year of challenge. We must challenge [the occupation] without fear...or by the sacrifices being made now by our young people, with rocks and knives, through which Palestinians have once again imposed a new parameter in the equation of the struggle... We are now witnessing a phenomenon called peaceful popular resistance. How? These young people, youth, believed in Allah and Allah loved them and took them to Him, but their funerals are greater than those of the leaders and the sympathy for them is great.”

Headline: “Abu Tharifa at Fatah Launch rally in Rafah: We call on the Hamas movement to agree to the factions’ solution for the Rafah crossing crisis”
“Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) leadership member Talal Abu Tharifa... gave a speech yesterday in the name of the national and Islamic forces during the rally for the 51st anniversary of the Fatah Launch (Intilaqa), in the presence of hundreds of the movement’s members in the district. While blessing the Fatah movement on the 51st anniversary of its Launch, Abu Tharifa emphasized that 2016 has to be the year of the uprising and the popular intifada and a year of national unity and an end to the disgusting rift [between Fatah and Hamas]...
He clarified that this year the anniversary of the Fatah Launch coincides with the intifada of the new generation young people in the streets of Jerusalem, the West Bank, Acre, and Sakhnin, and along the whole area of the Gaza Strip border, who respond to the fascism of the [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu government with bare chests, rocks, knives, Molotov cocktails and car rammings, on the way to the third popular intifada to expel the occupation and the settlement colonialism.
DFLP political bureau member Abu Tharifa emphasized that the popular intifada is a historic opportunity to translate last March’s [Fatah] Central Committee decisions [into action], and the popular uprising is the Palestinian people’s cry that it will no longer bear and accept the reality of settlement, siege, and occupation. Likewise, he called to redesign the relations with the occupation state by ceasing security cooperation with it, cancelling the Paris Agreement, which is destructive to the Palestinian economy, and releasing [itself] from the unjust Oslo [Accords’] restrictions...
Abu Tharifa demanded the supply of means for the continuity of the popular uprising, first the establishment of a national unified leadership of all the factions, forces and civil organizations in the West Bank and Gaza, and all levels, and the creation of a unified source of authority in occupied Jerusalem and a unified leadership for the uprising.”
