Op-ed in PA daily by Arab Israeli condemns terrorist attack in Tel Aviv that killed 2

Excerpt of op-ed by Muhammad Ali Taha, an Arab Israeli author
"A short while ago a young Arab from Arara (i.e., terrorist Nashat Melhem) committed an abominable criminal act in Tel Aviv, and cold-bloodedly murdered 2 young Jewish civilians and an Arab civilian, who was trying to support his family. [Israeli] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took his speech podium from his office in West Jerusalem and placed it in the heart of Dizengoff Street [in Tel Aviv]. He spoke with his well-known fluency and incited against 1.5 million Arab citizens of the State of Israel! Dignitaries of the right expected the young [Israeli] Arabs to cry out in support of the attack, close the streets, burn tires, throw rocks at police, set institutions on fire, and make strident statements of support for the crime. And the opposite happened: The head of the [Israeli Arab] Joint List Party, its Parliament Members, the chairman of the National Committee [of heads of Arab districts], the chairman of the Arara Council and members of the council all condemned the attack. Likewise, academics, workers, and farmer condemned it and there did not remain one [Israeli] Arab in our country that did not condemn it!”

Nashat Melhem - 29-year-old Israeli Arab terrorist who carried out a shooting attack, killing 2 Israelis, Alon Bakal and Shimon Ruimi, and wounding 8 others, at Hasimta Bar in Tel Aviv on Jan. 1, 2016. Melhem fled the scene, and later that day killed a taxi driver, Bedouin Israeli Amin Shaaban, in another part of Tel Aviv. A week after the attacks, on Jan. 8, 2016, Israeli security forces tracked down Melhem in a building in his hometown of Arara in the north of Israel. After Melhem opened fire at them, the Israeli security forces shot and killed him.
