PA daily reports on international campaign to free child terrorist who stabbed 2, under PLO Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs’ umbrella
Headline: “75 countries throughout the world marked the birthday of the boy prisoner Ahmad Manasrah”
“About 75 countries and websites throughout the world participated two nights ago (Friday-Saturday) in activities and events that demanded the release of the boy prisoner Ahmad Manasrah (i.e., terrorist who stabbed and injured two Israelis severely, one of them a 13-year-old boy), on the event of his birthday, and also the release of the children, minors, from the occupation’s prisons. This was part of the worldwide campaign ‘We will continue beating’ launched by the ‘Ibda’a’ institution in the Deheisheh refugee camp, under the patronage of the [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs.
Many ceremonies were held in Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, the US, Denmark, France, Canada, Egypt, Belgium, Morocco, Sweden, Australia, and the other countries that held events and conferences demanding the release of child prisoners. The occupation government was condemned for continuing to attack and detain Palestine’s children…
The widespread participation in the campaign of solidarity with the child prisoners, of which the child Ahmad Manasrah serves as the symbol, was an important response to the Israeli incitement against the campaign by Israeli officials and websites, who called it a ‘campaign of lies,’ as appeared on the Israeli website ‘Walla.’
The Ibda’a institution in the Deheisheh refugee camp, the [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs, and the activists and national institutions in the Bethlehem district held an event of solidarity with the detained children of Palestine on Thursday evening, Jan. 22, 2016, with the participation of child prisoner Ahmad Manasrah’s family, and Martyr (Shahid) Hassan Manasrah’s family. Likewise, Director of the [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs Issa Karake, Secretary of Fatah’s Bethlehem branch Muhammad Al-Masri, representatives of the national institutes and human rights organizations, families of prisoners and released prisoners, and a large audience of children were also present.
During the ceremony 14 candles were lit, like the age of the boy Ahmad Manasrah, a video about the detention of children was shown, and national songs were played.”

Hassan Manasrah was killed while fleeing the scene, and Ahmad Manasrah was shot by Israeli police and hospitalized. Both victims of the attack were seriously injured. The terrorists, who were cousins, came from the nearby Palestinian neighborhood of Beit Hanina.
