PA Governor at event glorifying terrorist “expressed great pride in Martyr Dalal… the title Sisters of Dalal is an honor to all Palestinian women”
On March 12, 2016, the Palestinian Red Crescent hosted a Fatah event commemrating the anniversary of the Coastal Road Massacre. The event was attended by several PA and Fatah officials, including PA District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam and Abbas’ advisor and Fatah Central Committee member Sultan Abu Al-Einein. Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, the offical PA daily, reported on the event. An almost identical text to the item published in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida appeared on the official Facebook page of Abbas’ advisor and Fatah Central Committee member Sultan Abu Al-Einein, with the following addition:
“[District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila] Ghannam expressed great pride in Martyr (Shahid) Dalal and her companions to the path, and said that the title Sisters of Dalal is an honor to all Palestinian women.”

Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, killing 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70.
