Senior Fatah official: Terrorist Abu Jihad is one of the "eternal Martyrs" in Palestinian history who created "a path for future generations"

“Fatah Central Committee member [and advisor to PA Chairman Abbas on NGOs] Sultan Abu Al-Einein emphasized that the Fatah movement is a movement for the masses, defender of the national project, and pioneer of the struggle… This was said during a lecture to students at Al-Istiqlal University in Jericho titled The Resolve of the Palestinian Revolution in Lebanon… Abu Al-Einein emphasized that in Palestinian history there are eternal Martyrs (Shahids), whose memory will remain strong in the soul of our Palestinian and Arab people, as they were the revolutionaries and the commanders… who have created hope and life for us and the beginning of a path for future generations through their Martyrdom (Shahada). We remember their heroic acts, remember them with the blossoming of the almond flowers and the calls of resistance, and constantly feel their presence among us and how it fills the place despite the passing of years, and firstly the Martyr, leader, and symbol, Yasser Arafat, and Abu Jihad.”
Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks. These attacks, which killed a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
