Retaining the Palestinian Authority's policy of glorifying murderers of Israeli civilians, a Palestinian Authority school this month hosted a basketball game named after Dalal Mughrabi who led the worst terror attack in Israel's history, in which 37 civilians were killed, among them 12 children.

"The Dalal Mughrabi Cup" took place in the Al-Awael School for Girls. This school is under the PA Ministry of Education and listed on the website of the ministry's Directorate of Education - Ramallah-El-Bireh. The terror glorifying game was held "under the auspices" of the head of this same education directorate, Bassam Erekat. [Al-Quds, March 23, 2016]

The Dalal Mughrabi Cup was co-organized by a Palestinian NGO, the Al-Razi Cultural and Social Association. This NGO is a member of the Networks program under the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), which aims at promoting “intercultural dialogue across the Euro-Mediterranean region,” and “build trust and improve mutual understanding.” ALF is “an inter-governmental institution” established under EUROMED, an organization consisting of the 28 EU member states and 15 Southern Mediterranean, African and Middle Eastern countries. This is not the first time that murderer Dalal Mughrabi is being presented to Palestinian children and youth as a role model through sports. Palestinian Media Watch has documented that Jibril Rajoub who is Deputy-Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee and Head of the PA Olympic Committee sponsored a table tennis tournament named after Dalal Mughrabi

Other killers have also had tournaments named after them, even murderers who have killed Israelis during the current terror campaign. Rajoub sponsored
another table tennis tournament, this time one named after terrorist Muhannad Halabi who stabbed 2 Israelis to death in October 2015.

Another PA school recently held a
tournament named after 2 terrorist stabbers with participating teams named after additional 4 terrorists who attacked Israelis.

The following is a longer excerpt of the report on the Dalal Mughrabi Cup:

Headline: “In honor of Palestinian Women’s Day - the Rosary Sisters’ High School won the Martyr Dalal Mughrabi Cup after beating the Al-Awael School in a basketball [game] under the auspices of the Al-Razi Cultural and Social Association”

A photo, published on the Israeli-Arab website Panet.co.il together with the same article that appeared in Al-Quds, shows three people with the game cup. The PA’s map of “Palestine” that includes the PA areas as well as all of Israel is seen in the background.
