Israeli PM complaint to UN cites PMW findings
Netanyahu complains to UN
about the PA
following PMW report
about PA terror glorification
- Israeli PM instructs UN representative to file complaint against the PA due to its glorification of terrorist murderer
- PMW documented that PA and Fatah officials celebrated the annual day of most lethal terror attack in Israel's history, specifically glorifying the terrorist who led the murder of 37 civilians, among them 12 children
Earlier this month, Palestinian Media Watch exposed that Palestinian Authority and Fatah officials had actively participated in a ceremony hosted by the Red Crescent, which honored the leader of the most lethal terror attack in Israel's history, Dalal Mughrabi, as the "Bride of Palestine". Based on this PMW documentation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the country's representative at the UN to file a complaint against the PA for promoting terrorist Dalal Mughrabi as a hero for Palestinians amidst the current wave of terror attacks against Israelis:
"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has requested Ambassador Danny Danon, the Permanent Representative of Israel to the UN, to submit a complaint against the PA, for turning a loathsome terrorist into a role model for Palestinian society as a wave of Palestinian terrorism and violence continues to rage, fed by a murderous campaign of incitement."
[Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, March 27, 2016]
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Spokesperson announced this in a press release, linking to PMW's extensive documentation of the PA's long tradition of presenting murderer Mughrabi as a role model for Palestinians. The ministry connected the glorification of past terrorists to the current wave of Palestinian terror attacks:
"The glorification by the PA of the 1978 female arch-terrorist Dalal Mughrabi is directly linked to the Palestinian terrorists who operate today, perpetrating murderous attacks with the encouragement of the PA."
The ministry's press release also showed a picture of terrorist Dalal Mughrabi from PMW's documentation of the specific event at which PA official Laila Ghannam, Governor of Ramallah, stated that "the blood of our female Martyrs flows in the veins of every Palestinian," and that "every Palestinian that belongs to her land and [adheres to] her basic principles is a sister of Dalal." The following is the MFA's press release about the complaint to the UN based on PMW findings:
Incitement to murder by the Palestinian Authority
27 Mar 2016
This week, the Palestinian Authority and the Fatah Movement "celebrated" the anniversary of the 1978 Coastal Road massacre, in which 37 Israelis were murdered in cold blood, including 12 children.
(Communicated by the MFA Spokesperson)
The systematic incitement to murder Israelis, led by official Palestinian Authority institutions, continues to intensify.
This week, the Palestinian Authority and the Fatah Movement "celebrated" the anniversary of the Coastal Road massacre, in which 37 Israelis were murdered in cold blood, including 12 children. On 11 March 1978, a group of terrorists from the Fatah Movement, led by Dalal Mughrabi, murdered Gail Rubin, an American tourist, then hijacked a bus and indiscriminately murdered its passengers.
Over the past few days, the event has been commemorated in high-profile public celebrations throughout the Palestinian Authority, as a hallmark of Palestinian heroism. The glorification by the PA of the 1978 female arch-terrorist Dalal Mughrabi is directly linked to the Palestinian terrorists who operate today, perpetrating murderous attacks with the encouragement of the PA.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has requested Ambassador Danny Danon, the Permanent Representative of Israel to the UN, to submit a complaint against the PA, for turning a loathsome terrorist into a role model for Palestinian society as a wave of Palestinian terrorism and violence continues to rage, fed by a murderous campaign of incitement.
It is intolerable that generations of Palestinians are being educated to hatred of Jews and adoration of murderers.
