Fatah drawing: Reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah means a gun is pointed at Israel

Text and picture posted on the official Fatah Facebook page

The picture shows Chairman of the Information Committee of the Fatah Mobilization and Organization Commission Munir Al-Jaghoub holding a drawing. The drawing depicts a handshake that forms a gun on which is written "The Palestinian reconciliation" – referring to a desired resolution of the existing rift between Fatah and Hamas – and on top of the gun is a Palestinian flag. The gun is pointed at a flag with a Star of David on it with the text: "The Israeli occupation."

Posted text: "The national responsibility and the supreme interests of our people require us in the Fatah Movement to meet with the Hamas movement on the basis of the partnership that unites all of us. Their participation in a preparatory meeting of the [Palestinian] National Council (i.e., the legislative body of the PLO) constitutes a first and important step on the path to ending the rift [between Fatah and Hamas] and returning the unity and cohesion to the homeland.
Munir Al-Jaghoub
Chairman of the Information Committee of the Fatah Mobilization and Organization Commission"
