After the battles in the Jenin refugee camp (i.e., part of Israel's Operation Defensive Shield military operation in April 2002 to destroy the Palestinian terror infrastructure), there was a need for an act that would prove to the world the failure of [then Israeli Prime Minister Ariel] Sharon's terror and Operation Defensive Shield. It was a deeply moving sight to see Andalib read her will before the public while holding Allah's book and saying: 'This life is fleeting, pointless, and worthless, and the best thing man seeks is a dignified life in Paradise.' On the morning of the day of the operation, Andalib said to her mother before leaving that she should prepare herself for happy news in the evening that would surprise her, and the mother thought that her fiancé would come to visit her. However, Andalib carried out the April 12, 2002 self-sacrificing operation, and did not wait until Sunday, April 14, in order to celebrate her 20th birthday. This was because she preferred to celebrate it in a different place and a different manner, and she hurried to extinguish the flame of her desire to take revenge against the Jews instead of extinguishing her 20th candle in her father's house, which is located in the village of Beit Fajjar in the Bethlehem district in the southern West Bank…
We all bow in admiration and appreciation before the soul of heroic Martyrdom (Shahada) seeker Andalib Takatka, who succeeded in standing before the occupation and taking revenge for the innocent childhood that the occupation murders day after day in occupied Palestine."

Andalib Khalil Muhammad Suleiman or Andalib Takatka – Female suicide bomber from Fatah who blew herself up on Jaffa Road in Jerusalem near the Mahane Yehuda outdoor market on April 12, 2002, murdering 6 and wounding more than 80.
Jenin – refugee camp north of Nablus that was a major hotbed of terrorism in the PA terror campaign 2000-2005 (the second Intifada). To reduce the attacks, Israeli forces entered Jenin on April 3, 2002, to conduct searches as part of Operation Defensive Shield, which was carried out to destroy the terror infrastructure in the West Bank, and several days of intense fighting against Palestinian terrorists in booby-trapped houses ensued. While the PA claimed that the Israeli forces committed a “massacre” and killed hundreds of civilians, a UN report refuted these claims, confirming that 52 Palestinians were killed in the battle of which the majority were terrorists. 23 Israeli soldiers were also killed in the fighting.
Operation Defensive Shield - a large Israeli military operation in April 2002 in response to the many suicide bombings during PA terror campaign (the second Intifada, 2000-2005). Israel put Arafat under siege and invaded six of the largest West Bank cities in an attempt to destroy the terror infrastructure.
