PA TV’s love song to the rifle - “My beloved”
As a cultural feature, official PA TV broadcast a love song to the rifle. Men and women perform a dance to a song that lauds the rifle as “my beloved”:
Lyrics: “My rifle, my beloved
I like to disassemble its trigger
It is confident when I carry it…
My rifle is my right arm

While romanticizing and lauding weapons may seem inappropriate, in the PA it has been the norm for years because it is a key element in the terror-accepting culture the PA has created. Palestinian Media Watch has exposed numerous statements by Palestinians expressing love for the rifle, as well as songs and performances praising it. For example:
“We treat the rifle as a brother”
“My machine gun and my bullets are the path to salvation”
“I have no love other than the love of the rifle”
“On the rifle butt, we have engraved [Fatah's] symbol, On the grip, we have engraved ‘Arafat’”
