“Our war is with the Jews,” says Fatah official

Itamar Marcus  |
  • Fatah wants children to join terror:

“When you see a 15-year-old with a rock or a knife… know that this cause continues in the blood of our people”

  • Fatah official: Murderer of 5 in Bnei Brak was “heroic”

  • Fatah official vowed to continue terror: “Struggle with all means” ”

Three weeks prior to the Bnei Brak attack, and other attacks in which a total of 11 people were murdered in one week, an official in Abbas’ Fatah Movement called on Palestinians to continue terror - and to use 15-year-olds:

Fatah Revolutionary Council member Abd Al-Ilah Atteereh: “We have no choice but to strengthen the resistance with what Allah will provide us with. When you see a 15-year-old Palestinian child carrying a rock or another tool or a knife, know that this cause continues in the blood of our people, and that it is inherited.”

He also called for terror using the PA’s euphemism “struggle with all means.”

“I give [the Israelis] a clear and explicit message from Fatah, [groups] other than Fatah, and every Palestinian patriot: … We’ll continue the struggle with all means, with all that Allah enables us to fight you with.

Those terrorists who answered Fatah’s call have been honored by Fatah. The Palestinian terrorist who murdered 5 people in Bnei Brak near Tel Aviv last week was “heroic” if you ask Fatah. Accusing Israel of killing three other terrorists as an act of revenge, Fatah’s Secretary in the Jenin Branch, Ata Abu Rmeileh, called the murderer a hero, thus proving Abbas’ condemnation of the attack insincere, as pointed out by Palestinian Media Watch:

Fatah Jenin Branch Secretary Ata Abu Rmeileh: “It is clear that in this [arrest] operation that the occupation carried out, it wants to take revenge for what happened in Tal Al-Rabia (i.e., shooting attack in Bnei Brak), the operation of heroic Diya Hamarsheh (i.e., terrorist, murdered 5). The occupation wants to take revenge. The occupation’s morale is at a low. They are attempting to raise the morale by carrying out additional crimes against our Palestinian people.”

Two days before the murderous attack, the same Fatah official stated that “Our war is with the Jews”:

Fatah Jenin Branch Secretary Ata Abu Rmeileh: “We [in Fatah] are not arguing with anyone. We are taking action for Allah. We are taking action for our Lord… Our goal is not Fatah, Fatah is a means. Fatah is a means for the liberation of Palestine. Our war is with the Jews.”

Abbas’ Fatah also used its willing tool, Facebook, to glorify the murderer of 5 as the Movement’s “hero” - a “Martyr” who “ascended to Heaven”:

Posted text: “Glory and eternity to our righteous Martyrs”
Text on image: “The Fatah Movement
Hero of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades (i.e., Fatah’s military wing)
Martyr Diya Hamarsheh (i.e., terrorist, murdered 5)
Who carried out the shooting operation in Bnei Brak in which he ascended [to Heaven] after he killed 5 settlers (sic., victims were 2 Israeli residents of the coastal city, 1 Israeli Arab Christian police officer, and 2 foreign workers from Ukraine)”

As PMW has shown, for months the PA has been calling on Palestinians to “increase the popular resistance” - another euphemism for terror. The day after the murder of 5 in Bnei Brak, two additional Fatah officials repeated the call for terror:

“Yesterday, Thursday [March 31, 2022] … Fatah Movement Central Committee member [and Fatah Commissioner of NGOs] Dalal Salameh… called to revive the popular resistance and continue it, called for it not to be seasonal, and called for the participation of all our Palestinian people in it in light of the escalation of the Israeli attacks against the Palestinians and their lands.

[Fatah] General Commissioner of Political [Affairs and PA Security Forces Spokesman] Talal Dweikat said that… the Israeli occupation is still continuing its policy of taking control of the land and the residents whom it is attempting to expel from their homes and their lands, and he called to strengthen the popular resistance.”

The following are explanatory notes and longer excerpts of the statements cited above:

Abu Rmeileh called murderer of five Diya Hamarsheh heroic in a statement in response to the death of Sanad Abu Atiya and Yazid Al-Sa’adi – Palestinian terrorists and reportedly Islamic Jihad members aged 17 and 23 respectively who, together with other terrorists, opened fire on Israeli security forces conducting arrests of 17 terror suspects in Jenin on March 31, 2022. Abu Atiya and Al-Sa’adi were killed in the ensuing exchange of fire, as was another unidentified terrorist, and seven terrorists were wounded; on the Israeli side, one soldier was wounded.

Tal Al-Rabia is the Palestinians’ Arabic translation of Tel Aviv, to wrongly imply the existence of an Arab village of that name prior to Tel Aviv.

Diya Ahmed Hassan Hamarsheh - Palestinian terrorist and Fatah member who shot and murdered 5 people - Israeli civilians Rabbi Avishai Yehezkel and Ya'akov Yisrael Shalom, Israeli police officer Amir Khoury, and 2 foreign workers from Ukraine identified as Alexander and Dmitry - in Bnei Brak near Tel Aviv on March 29, 2022. An Israeli police officer shot and killed Hamarsheh, ending the attack. Hamarsheh, from Ya'abad near Jenin, had been working in Israel illegally. He was imprisoned for 6 months in 2015 for dealing in illegal weapons and membership in a terror organization.

The terms “all means,” “all means of resistance,” “all forms,” are ‎used by PA leaders to include using all types of violence, including deadly terror ‎against Israeli civilians such as stabbings and shootings, as well as throwing rocks and Molotov Cocktails.

Abd Al-Ilah Atteereh also serves as PLO Central Council member. He made this statement during a live broadcast from the funeral of three Fatah terrorists who were killed by Israel as they were planning an imminent shooting attack.

Muhammad, Mahmoud, Ghaith, and Omar Jaradat – Palestinian terrorists who murdered 25-year-old Israeli Yehuda Dimentman in a shooting attack near Homesh, west of Nablus, on Dec. 16, 2021. Two other Israelis were wounded in the attack. Israel arrested the four terrorists and seized two M-16 semi-automatic assault rifles from them on Dec. 19, 2021. The four are still on trial as of Feb. 28, 2022.

“Yesterday, Thursday [March 31, 2022], at a political conference for the 46th anniversary of Land Day (see note below -Ed.), speakers emphasized the need to increase the popular resistance (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror) against the Israeli occupation’s attempts to take control of the Palestinian land…

Fatah Movement Central Committee member [and Fatah Commissioner of NGOs] Dalal Salameh… called to revive the popular resistance and continue it, called for it not to be seasonal, and called for the participation of all our Palestinian people in it in light of the escalation of the Israeli attacks against the Palestinians and their lands.

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, April 1, 2022]

Land Day – annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and building purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.

The terms "peaceful uprising/resistance,” and “popular uprising/resistance" are used by PA leaders at times to refer to peaceful protest and at times to refer to deadly terror attacks and terror waves. For example, ‎Mahmoud Abbas defined as “peaceful popular” the murderous terror during the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave (“The Knife Intifada”), in which 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and hundreds wounded in stabbings, shootings, and car ramming attacks. Abbas said: "We want peaceful popular uprising, and that’s what this is." https://palwatch.org/page/9276
