How Gazans steal from their own people and blame Israel
Gazan merchants manipulatively gouge prices at the expense of their own people. Then, Palestinian Authority television blames Israel for it with the libel that Israel is closing crossings because of Hanukkah.
Official PA TV reporter in Gaza: "From the moment it was announced about the approaching of what is known as the Jewish holidays [of Hanukkah], the prices have risen significantly and noticeably. For example, a kilo of sugar costs 16 shekels, but with the approach of the Jewish holidays and out of fear of closing the crossings [to Gaza], the price has risen from 19 shekels to 27 and even 30 shekels in certain areas."

In fact, Israel is not planning to close any crossings into Gaza because of Hanukkah nor has Israel artificially raised any prices in Gaza. This is just PA propaganda to defend merchants in Gaza trying to enrich themselves from the pockets of their own people and to place the blame on Israel.
