PA: Amb. Mike Huckabee is more extreme than the “fascists”

Itamar Marcus|
  • PA demonizes the US Ambassador Mike Huckabee as "more extremist" than the Israeli "fascist" politicians Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich
  • Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor: Huckabee's statements about "Israeli rights" "are saturated with lies and myths that have no connection to truth or history"
  • PA's Bethlehem governor rejects statements made by Huckabee regarding "the Jews' right in Palestine… [and] refute[d] the erroneous narratives and ideas that the Zionist movement is promoting."

Since Mike Huckabee's appointment as Ambassador to Israel, the Palestinian Authority has not hidden its hatred  for Huckabee because he openly asserts Israel's historical roots and rights in the Land of Israel based on archeological facts and his Christian beliefs.

The latest round of Huckabee demonization by the PA was sparked by Huckabee's reiterating Israel's historical rights during a recent interview by anti-Israel podcast host Tucker Carlson (see note). Carlson recently called Netanyahu "evil" and a "monster" and has compared Israeli behavior to that of the Nazis. Carlson likewise attacked Huckabee's support for Israel.

In response, Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor Mahmoud Al-Habbash attacked Huckabee on his Facebook page:

Posted text: "The statements of American ‘Israeli' Ambassador Mike Huckabee regarding the ‘myth' of Israeli rights in Palestine or in the states of the region are not just a repetition of outdated myths. More than that, they are an expression of moral and political bankruptcy, which again proves the impossibility of achieving peace or stability in the region as long as these patterns of thinking exist, which are saturated with lies and myths that have no connection to truth or history (an abundance of evidence proves Jewish historical rights in Israel -Ed.)."

The official PA TV's "Israeli affairs expert"said that the Ambassador was more extreme than the Israeli "fascist" politicians:

Official PA TV "Israeli affairs expert" Fayez Abbas: "The news regarding US Ambassador Huckabee, [Israeli Minister of National Security] Ben Gvir, and [Minister of Finance] Smotrich, these fascists, they are- it can be said about them that they are not as extremist as the US ambassador in Tel Aviv."

[Official PA TV, Palestine This Morning, Feb. 26, 2026]

And the attacks keep coming. The PA's Governor in Bethlehem sponsored a lecture organized by anti-Israel NGOs, devoted to attacking Huckabee's religious beliefs:

Headline: "Intellectual seminar in Bethlehem refutes Huckabee's statements"

"Bethlehem Governor Muhammad Taha Abu Alia inaugurated an intellectual seminar titled ‘From Religious Text to Diplomacy: [Ambassador] Huckabee and Biblical Israel,' which was organized by the International Academic Campaign [against the Israeli Occupation and Apartheid] in cooperation with the Sahouri Cultural Center...

In his remarks, Abu Alia emphasized his opposition to the statements made by US Ambassador to Israel regarding... ‘the Jews' right in Palestine.' He also emphasized that refuting the Zionist narrative from a religious, historical, and political perspective is among the most important duties of struggle imposed on the Palestinian intellectuals and politicians."

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, March 13, 2026]

The PA, as its most basic ideology and policy, denies Israel's history and right to exist.  Accordingly, it has undertaken an unbridled attack on Huckabee because he dared to contradict the PA's denial of Jews' and Israel's historic and religious ties to the land of Israel.
