PA won’t extradite terrorist murderer to France, fearing Germany may demand PA extradite Olympics massacre terrorists

Senior Fatah official:

  • Extradition of terrorist to France "might open a gate" to additional extradition demands from foreign countries

  • "Germany might come out tomorrow and say it wants those who carried out the Munich operation"

  • PA still brags that murders of Israeli athletes in Munich were "an operation" and legitimate "armed struggle"

Fatah about "heroic Martyr Salah Khalaf" – Head of Black September terror organization and planner of Munich massacre:

  • "He is considered the planner of most of the quality self-sacrificing and security operations, the most important of which was the Munich operation"

Fatah about Ali Hassan Salameh - Commander of operations in Europe of Black September and planner of Munich massacre:

  • "Martyr Ali Hassan Salameh ‘Abu Hassan' - the handsome revolutionary and secret operations man"

During a discussion about France's demand of the PA to extradite terrorist murderer Mahmoud Al-Adra who participated in the murder of 6 people in Paris, senior Fatah official Munir Al-Jaghoub argued that the PA should not comply because "it might open a gate" to additional extradition demands from foreign countries.

For example, the PA fears Germany may request the extradition of the terrorists from the massacre of the 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics in 1978:

Al-Jaghoub also defended both the murders of Jewish civilians in France by terrorist Al-Adra, who France is requesting, and the deadly terror attack in Munich as "operations" and legitimate "armed struggle." As Palestinian Media Watch has shown, the PA argues that all Palestinians are engaged in "armed struggle everywhere" against Israel and therefore killing any Jew or Israeli in the world is legitimate. Therefore, Al-Jaghoub finds it unthinkable that PA Chairman Abbas would agree to extradite a single Palestinian because that would put "the entire people who conducted armed struggle" within the scope of extraditions:

Senior Fatah official Munir Al-Jaghoub: "Fatah… has conducted armed struggle for years, it certainly will not be in favor of this step (i.e., extradition of terrorist to France) if it occurs… No matter what Al-Adra's affiliation was at the time of carrying out this operation (i.e., terror attack), this will open a gate – Germany might come out tomorrow and say it wants those who carried out the Munich operation (i.e., Munich Olympics massacre, 11 murdered)The entire Palestinian people with all its layers conducted armed struggle everywhere against the Israeli occupation. Therefore, it is not possible today – at a time when President Abbas defended Hamas at the UN and elsewhere, so that it would not be labeled as terror – that at some point he would turn to such a step [of extradition]."

As policy, Fatah has always presented the Olympics Massacre as a legitimate attack. For decades, Palestinian Media Watch has exposed their glorification of the murders as "a quality operation" and its planners as "sparkling stars" and "heroic Martyrs".

Earlier this year, Palestinian Media Watch exposed that Fatah's TV station referred to the Munich attack as "a surprise Israel had not experienced before" and to Black September's commander in Europe as "the Mossad defeater" and "handsome revolutionary."

Fatah as policy marks the anniversaries of the death of the terrorists involved in the Munich massacre and this year was no exception when Fatah glorified the anniversaries of Salah Khalaf ‘Abu Iyad', head of Black September terror organization, and Ali Hassan Salameh, Black September's commander of operations in Europe:

"The torches of freedom –

… He is considered the planner of most of the quality self-sacrificing and security operations, the most important of which was the Munich operation (i.e., Munich Olympics massacre, 11 murdered).

His historical role was not limited to security activity alone, and he was among the political decision-makers...

Abu Iyad participated in commanding most of the battles of the Palestinian revolution, starting from the Karameh battle (see note below -Ed.), through the battles of the Palestinian revolution in Lebanon, and the siege of Beirut…

On Jan. 14, 1991, Abu Iyad died as a Martyr along with Hayel Abd Al-Hamid [‘Abu Al-Hol'] (i.e., one of the founders of Fatah) and Fakhri Al-Omari (i.e., founding member of Black September), in an assassination operation in Tunis carried out by one of Israel's agents."

"The torches of freedom

Salah Khalaf was born in Jaffa in 1933... In 1959 Abu Iyad moved to Kuwait, and there he, along with his comrades –  Yasser Arafat, Khalil Al-Wazir [‘Abu Jihad'] (i.e., terrorist, responsible for murder of 125), President Mahmoud Abbas, Abu Yusuf Al-Najjar (i.e., Black September commander of operations), and Kamal Adwan (i.e., senior member of Black September) – founded Fatah and was a member of the Fatah Central Committee until his Martyrdom.

He played a central role in establishing the security and military forces of the Palestinian revolution..."
