PLO/PA: Trump's goal is to "fight Islam" and conquer the entire Middle East!

• Fatah official: Israel "strives to create a new Middle East, so that Israel will take parts from every Arab state…: Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, implementing the slogan ‘From the Euphrates River to the Nile River, these are your borders, Israel'"

PA leaders are masters of projection. Palestinian Media Watch has shown that every map used by the PA presents the entire State of Israel as part of "Palestine." Nevertheless, PA leaders claim that it is Israel that is planning to conquer not only "Palestine" but the entire Middle East.

And the PA accuses not only Israel, but also US President Trump of nefarious plans. According to the PA, Trump doesn't just want land and oil but also to "fight Islam." The common American-Israeligoal is "domination and subjugation of the region":

Palestinian National Council Committee for Foreign and Parliamentary Affairs member Fawzi Al-Samhouri:

"What are the goals of the US behind supporting this criminal occupying entity in Palestine (i.e., Israel)… It wants, as American President Trump said during his election campaign and afterwards, that "Israel's territory is narrow, therefore we need to think about expanding it." He wanted the territory of this criminal entity to expand, and the proof of this is [America's] support for the occupation of Syria's lands after the fall of the regime of [former Syrian President] Bashar Assad and also now in Lebanon… The [American-Israeli] aggression against Iranwill not be limited to Iran but rather will afterwards be expanded to several states... This plan is completely clear, as [American] Minister of War [Pete] Hegseth declared: "We are now at war with Sunni or Shi'ite Islam and we will continue to fight it until its elimination." This clearly cannot be interpreted other than as the American plan. [Trump] now wants to harm all the Islamic states. Therefore, he talks about fighting Islam or Muslims, but he wants full control over this region… We need to fully understand, and all the leaders of the Arab states need to understand, that the planned American-Israeli goal is completely clear, and it is the domination and subjugation of the region, the theft of its treasures, and the denial of all expressions of state sovereignty and Arab national security."

That Israel is using Trump to achieve this goal was explained by Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki:

"The occupation (i.e., Israel) strives to create a new Middle East with Israeli planning, so that Israel will take parts from every Arab state, without leaving anyone unharmed, especially the surrounding states: Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, implementing the slogan ‘From the Euphrates River to the Nile River, these are your borders, Israel.' They believe that at this stage, especially with the presence of an unbalanced personality (referring to Trump) [parentheses in source], they can achieve this goal.The purpose of the war (i.e., against Iran) is very clear: to bring about change in the region, establish absolute and complete hegemony over the Arabs led by the Zionist axis, and seize the region's resources through the Israeli sword."

US is using Israel as well, according to Zaki:

"Betrayal is part of the nature of the West, as is its evasion of any commitment regarding Israel being a state above the law, a forward base in the region, and a forward tool of the US, which does not trust the Arabs despite its good relations with them."

PA Chairman Abbas' Fatah Movement also broadcast the PA projection that Israel's main goal is to establish "a Greater Israel from the Nile River to the Euphrates River":

Fatah-run Awdah TV host: "From the first moment of the aggression against the one and unified Palestine (refers to Hamas' Oct. 7 war on Israel; see note below -Ed.), the occupation (i.e., Israel) reflected to the entire world that the main goal is not only the Palestinian land, but also the surrounding states and even beyond that, particularly after occupier [Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu stood at the UN podium and spoke about Greater Israel from the Nile River to the Euphrates River."

An Egyptian journalist echoed this allegation, claiming Israel not only wants to "swallow Palestine" but also an additional "9 Arab states":

Deputy Editor in Chief of the Egyptian state-owned paper Al-Gomhuria Safwat Imran: "The Zionist occupation (i.e., Israel) recently expressed [its vision of] the so-called ‘Greater Israel,' which is not satisfied with swallowing Palestine and its actions within the Palestinian territories, but also aspires to swallow 9 Arab states."

Similarly, a former Lebanese minister has claimed that Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq and Jordan are in danger, being targeted by Israel:

Former Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transportation Ghazi Aridi: "Matters will not remain within the borders of Palestine, this [Israeli] threat will reach all the Arab states… When they talk about ‘Greater Israel,' to whom are their words directed? They say they want part of Lebanon's land, part of Syria's land, of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Iraq. This is a threat to this entire region, and certainly also to Jordan, which borders the West Bank. This danger is not directed only at the Palestinian factions… Rather, it is directed at the entire region, and Greater Israel will leave nothing [of the Arab states] when it arises."

A political commentator even invented a book in which Israel and/or the US supposedly stated their plan to "divide the Middle East region, the Arab and Islamic world":

Political commentator Muhammad Oudeh: "The war of [US President] Trump and [Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu is not only against the Palestinian people, it is against the region… In our region we were convinced… that the main enemy is the Shi'ite axis, the axis of Iran. The truth is that this appeared in a book written in the 1950s, before Iran had an axis, and when it still had a strong alliance with the US and Israel. The book stated: ‘We (i.e., Israel/US or both) must divide the Middle East region, the Arab and Islamic world.We must ignite sectarian and religious conflicts among them to create a new enemy for them that is not Israel.' The proof of this is the normalization with the Zionist entity (i.e., Israel) by Mauritania, Morocco, Sudan, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates (i.e., the Abraham Accords)… Those who do not have normalization with Iran tell us that the enemy is Iran… The leaders of the Arab peoples need to reconsider their strategy. They brought the US bases, which took all the resources of the peoples… to protect these peoples. However, it was revealed to us that [these bases] were placed to protect Israel, and they failed to protect these peoples when Iran attacked some of the bases in the Gulf states."

They believe that at this stage, especially with the presence of an unbalanced personality (referring to [US President] Trump) [parentheses in source], they can achieve this goal.The purpose of the war is very clear: to bring about change in the region, establish absolute and complete hegemony over the Arabs led by the Zionist axis, and seize the region's resources through the Israeli sword, as the extremists among them believe that ‘The sword descended from Heaven, and there is no honor or existence for non-Jews.' They do not consider that there are Arabs, Palestinians, Muslims, or Christians in front of them, and this is what is happening at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where they prevented worship in the houses of Allah (refers to closure of Temple Mount due to security concerns of rocket fire during Operation Roaring Lion -Ed.).

Amman, [Jordan] hosted the Iranian-American dialogue and reached results, but betrayal is part of the nature of the West, as is its evasion of any commitment regarding Israel being a state above the law, a forward base in the region, and a forward tool of the US, which does not trust the Arabs despite its good relations with them. This, alongside the Zionist outlook that does not attribute weight to international law or shared interests, as it sees itself as the master of the world imposing its will by force.

[Q:] The occupation has not finished its aggression against the Gaza Strip and Lebanon (refers to Hamas' Oct. 7 war on Israel; see note below -Ed.), and has already started a war with America against Iran. How do you explain this complex situation?

[Zaki:] If Iran will be eliminated, it will have a great impact on the region's issues. The Israelis carried [Israeli Minister of Finance] Smotrich's map to Paris, and it does not include anything called Palestine. It includes ‘Judea and Samaria,' the promised land, instead of the West Bank, while the Gaza Strip was ‘erased' because Trump has now set a new mandate, which may be long, and he wants to turn it into the Riviera of the East.

People are in one place, and he is in another. He wants to invest in the gas discovered in the northwest Gaza Strip and turn it into a project. This is not an American administration; these are economic oil ventures. Trump bargains over all the peoples' resources through his narrow vision, as if the world is merchandise. We are not inventing this. His colleague in extremism and hatred for Palestine, former [US] National Security Advisor [John] Bolton, said: ‘The danger to the US is not from any state in the world, but rather from Trump. You will see.' …

Trump is killing Lebanon, and the situation is most dangerous. There is complete chaos because of [Jeffrey] Epstein, whose role was exposed, and Trump is involved in it. The US does not want him. American universities are now shouting ‘Freedom for Palestine' and standing in the trench of resistance to the American administration...

[Q:] Trump says nothing about Gaza in the council he calls the ‘Peace Council' (i.e., Board of Peace), but he wants to be the president of the Gaza Strip if he will be ousted in the US. This disregard for laws and this manipulation that has now become apparent does not work on children, so how will it work on leaders and officials?

[Zaki:] And what is the way out of this dark tunnel?

(Answers in wonder) [parentheses in source] How will we be able to get out of this tunnel when we do not exchange opinions? The way out is by returning to the right path and making a qualitative change in Palestinian life. From tyranny, a subordinate government, and a non-existent economy, to self-fulfillment. In the current situation where the whole world identifies with you, you increase hostility on the internal front? Only someone who has lost their mind behaves like this, or someone who is struck by fear from something that does not scare anyone. This fear that Trump imposes by ‘erasing civilization' or drowning it in hell. These threats only work on 'rabble' like him…

Whoever bets on weapons, there is a stronger weapon than them. Whoever bets on peace, peace is lost. Therefore, there is a need to find a practical way out and show flexibility. It should be thought that victory is the ally of just causes, and our cause is just. 'A group from my nation will remain that will adhere to the truth and will defeat its enemies, and those who oppose it will not harm it' (i.e., a quote attributed to Islam's Prophet Muhammad regarding residents of Jerusalem). And anyone who has confidence in the justice of their goal and the strength of their people understands this…

Everyone who followed the US now feels uncomfortable because this affiliation and inclination have become a burden on humanity. Trump wants the UN and all the international organizations for himself. The intoxication of power made him forget about China, which has exceeded its limits. The Americans opened a swamp in Ukraine to drown Russia, but it is still strong and a power. This power was created under fire, and the joint veto decision by Russia and China is enough. There is a message here. Even the cessation of the American-Israeli war against Iran – it is true that it came as a result of Iran's resolve, but the biggest role was played by China…

Israel is a rogue and extremist state that crosses the lines, and our people are mighty. If we will decide to set out a million people for a certain goal in all cities, we will make the difference. Just like the Iranians when Trump threatened to bomb the facilities. They did not hide in shelters, but rather set out in human chains to defend the land. Our people must learn the lesson from them, and our people has deep experience…

In the 12-day war (i.e., Operation Rising Lion; see note below), and in the latest war with Iran, enormous destruction was caused to Israel. With us, no one flees, while attempts to escape from Israel are in full swing via ships to Cyprus, or through Jordan and Egypt.

[Q:] Are they emigrating?

[Zaki:] Yes. [The Israelis] have no homeland, they have international protection and American weapons. We suffer, but they suffer more. We can live without electricity, they cannot. We do not have huge factories or immense technology to lose billions, while they lose every day. There is a war of attrition between us and them, and whoever surrenders will leave the arena. Allah willing, it will be them…

[Q:] Oman has always been a central supporter of the Palestinian people and its cause. This is reflected in its refusal to normalize with the occupation and also its refusal to participate in the Peace Council. How do you view these creative positions, at a time when plots against Palestine and its people are being woven? …

[Zaki:] Oman's concern to regulate relations between Iran and Arab states could be seen, given the good relationship this authentic Arab state has with Iran. Some Arabs used to say that Iran is in the region to slaughter Arabs, but in reality, Iran stands against Israel and the US, and this matter has great significance for any sensible person. As long as there are people like the Omanis in the region, who are present in storms and support only the truth, everything will be fine."

US President Trump has not said Israel needs to expand its territory, but rather threatened to pull US support for Israel if it annexed the West Bank.

The Palestinian National Council (PNC) is the legislative body of the PLO.

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth's actual statement from a March 19, 2026 press briefing is as follows: "Name the Islamist enemy, whether they are Sunni or Shia – because this is a Shia regime [in Iran] – Sunni or Shia, and Iran has been willing to harbor them as long as that group is willing to try to kill Americans."
