It's official. It's a Palestinian "value" to murder Israeli men on their way to prayer
• It depends on who you kill. Murdering a man in front of his wife and 2-year-old son, and not killing the wife and son, shows Palestinian “values,” says Fatah leader Abbas Zaki:
Zaki: “We don’t kill people as we please. There are values”
• Zaki lied, claiming the murderer spared the wife and 2-year-old son after killing the father. In fact, the murderer attempted to kill all three but wife and son survived with stab wounds
• Zaki lied, claiming the Palestinian leadership does not support the murder of Israeli women and children
• Zaki praised the teenage terrorist murderers – who he called “children” - for leading the 2015 terror wave
Two Israelis, Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi and Aharon Bennett, were stabbed to death in October 2015 by 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist Muhannad Halabi. The terrorist attacked the Bennett family on their way to pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Halabi murdered the father and another man, and also stabbed and seriously wounded Bennett’s wife, Adele and their 2-year-old son.
In the eyes of senior Fatah official Abbas Zaki, murderer Muhannad Halabi was following Palestinian “values,” when he only killed the father and “spared” the mother and the son. Zaki’s claim is false on two accounts.
1. PA ideology does not limit its support for murder to Israeli/Jewish men but supports murder of women and children as well.
2. Murderer Halabi did in fact try to murder the mother and the son, however they miraculously survived with stab wounds.
Although the PA’s policy of promoting and rewarding the murder of Israeli men, women, and children has been documented thousands of times by Palestinian Media Watch, it is unusual for a senior Palestinian leader to admit in front of cameras that murdering a rabbi is a Palestinian “value” because the murderer did not also kill his wife and infant child: “We don’t kill people as we please. There are values, customs.”
The following are Zaki’s words and lies:
Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki: “When the children of Palestine felt a while ago that the [PA] leadership didn’t know what to do… Muhannad Halabi went out with a knife… He succeeded in infiltrating Jerusalem and killed a rabbi [Nehemiah Lavi]… When he saw… a small child – a woman and her son - he did not kill him (sic., he stabbed and injured both). This is from Almighty Allah. For we don't kill people as we please. There are values, customs.”

How many lies can Zaki make in one sentence?
First lie: Murdering Men, Women, and children is supported by the PA:
Zaki claims the PA values support murdering only men, but not the murder of women and children. This is a lie. The PA rewards and honors all Palestinian terrorists. The PA pays high monthly salaries to all terrorist prisoners including murderers of women and children. The Awad cousins murdered Ruth and Ehud Fogel and their 3 children; Yoav aged 11, Elad aged 4, and Hadas aged 3 months and the terrorists have already received 548,800 shekels ($156,337) in PA salary following their arrest.
Reconfirming the PA’s support for those child murderers, Abbas’ official PA TV chose to interview the mother and aunt of these murderers, and one of the child killers was glorified as “the hero, the legend." [Official PA TV Jan. 19 and 21, 2012]
Dalal Mughrabi led the murder of 37 Israelis, including 12 children, some aged 2, 3, 5 and 6, and the PA has named 6 schools, numerous sporting events, and cultural centers for children after her.
The families of all Palestinian suicide bombers - who have murdered hundreds of women and children - all receive high monthly PA allowances for life, because their relatives were killed and died as “Martyrs” while murdering Jews.
Conclusion: The PA absolutely values murdering Israeli women and children, along with murdering men.
Second lie: Murderer Halabi intentionally spared the mother and child
Zaki falsely claimed that murderer Halabi intentionally spared the mother and child, while in fact he attempted but failed to murder both of them. Zaki did not mention that the terrorist stabbed them both, and that the wife Adele had to receive emergency life saving surgery. While recovering in the hospital, Adele recounted that lying stabbed and bleeding on the ground she called to the Palestinian shopkeepers: “I yelled ‘please help me!’ and they just spat at me.” [Times of Israel, Oct. 4, 2015]
When a Palestinian man helped save the lives of the Mark family in 2016 after the father of the family, Mickey, had been murdered and the rest of the family was seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting, the heroic Palestinian was so ostracized and threatened by Palestinians and the PA for saving the life of Israelis that he was forced to flee to Israel. He and his family were eventually granted Israeli residency. [Times of Israel, Aug. 7, 2019]
So not only does the Palestinian Authority itself support the murder of women and children, but they have successfully transmitted this ideology to their population. Indeed, the Palestinian Authority terror-“values” have been passed on to and absorbed by Palestinians.
It must be noted that Zaki is a senior Palestinian leader. He is a member of Fatah’s Central Committee and has been appointed by Mahmoud Abbas to represent him on numerous occasions.
Also significant in Zaki’s statement cited above is his esteem for Palestinian teenage terrorists who he calls Palestinian “children.” Dozens of Palestinian teenagers followed 19-year-old Halabi’s attack in 2015, creating an extended terror wave in which 44 were murdered by Palestinian terrorists. Zaki lauded murderer Halabi’s initiative to go “out with a knife” to “kill a rabbi” when “the [PA] leadership was at a loss for what to do.”
Zaki’s positive view of Halabi’s murders is representative of the official PA and Fatah response of veneration at the time of the attack, exposed by Palestinian Media Watch. The PA named a street after the murderer and erected a monument in his honor.
Likewise, a table tennis tournament held under the auspices of a senior Fatah official was named after the murderer, Abbas’ Fatah movement brought holy soil from the Al-Aqsa Mosque for Halabi’s grave, and a Fatah music video presented Halabi as heroic.
Now it’s official (again). Murdering innocent Israeli civilians on their way to prayer is a Palestinian value.
