“We will continue the cycle of blood and killing,” threatens Fatah leader Rajoub - “We are not the only ones who will die”

Itamar Marcus  |

Rajoub:

  • “Either the world will give us a solution or we will continue the cycle of blood and killing”

  • “Down to the last of the lion cubs (i.e., children) in this [Fatah] Movement – we are all potential Martyrs”

  • “[Fatah] will continue its struggle regardless of the price”

On the last day of the recent terror war with Hamas, while the final terms of a ceasefire were being negotiated between Israel and Hamas last Thursday (May 20.), top PA and Fatah leader Jibril Rajoub vowed that the PA/Fatah “will continue the cycle of blood and killing.”

Referring to Israel's “fascist and Nazi state terror,” Rajoub stated that unless “the world will give us a solution,” “we will continue the cycle of blood and killing”:

Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: “This situation requires we [Fatah] take a position and also the international community, which understands the scope of the fascist and Nazi state terror that is being carried out against the Palestinians… We are convinced that the conflict [with Israel] has reached the stage that either the world will give us a solution or we will continue the cycle of blood and killing…”

When asked what the possibilities are “that Fatah will enter an armed confrontation with the occupation (i.e., PA euphemism for Israel),” Rajoub stated that the Fatah Central Committee is “seriously discussing” it, that it’s “on the table,” and that Fatah “own[s] the armed struggle.”

Referring to the “2000 Intifada” – the 5-year PA terror campaign in which Palestinian terrorists murdered over 1,100 Israelis in suicide bombings and other attacks – the interviewer made it crystal clear to Rajoub which kind of “armed confrontation” they were talking about:

Asharq News interviewer: “How realistic today are the possibilities that have been raised that Fatah will enter an armed confrontation with the occupation… as happened in the 2000 [second] Intifada?”

Rajoub: “That possibility is on the table of the [Fatah] Central Committee, and we are seriously discussing this matter. We will also raise this matter in our discussions with the factions. If the world wants to push us into a corner, we are not the only ones who will die, and we are not the only ones who will suffer. As far as we’re concerned, the struggle with all its forms is a means, and the goal is ending the occupation. We own the armed struggle.”

Continuing, Rajoub encouraged Palestinians to seek martyrdom-death for “Palestine.” He specifically included children in this call, using Fatah’s pet name for its child members, “the lion cubs,” and stated that all Palestinians are “potential Martyrs”:

“We [Fatah] are the ones who brought about the outbreak of the revolution – us, us, us! We will not continue to [merely] boast about the past, but if there is a need for us to return to bearing arms, I say that we – starting with the Central Committee and down to the last of the lion cubs in the movement (i.e., child members of Fatah) – we are all potential Martyrs… We hope that the international community will pick up on the [emotional] turmoil and the feeling of bitterness that exists among all the Palestinians, who have begun to defy death and prefer death over a life of humiliation, suffering, and hardships under the rule of the neo-Nazis…”

Some Palestinians are already engaged in the “armed struggle.” – Yesterday, a 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist stabbed two Israelis in Jerusalem. [The Jerusalem Post, May 24, 2021] Fatah itself also issued a statement the day after Rajoub made his statement about the armed struggle, in which the movement vowed to “continue its struggle regardless of the price” and called on Palestinians to “continue the popular resistance activities” – a term Palestinian Media Watch has documented also includes the use of violence and terror

“In a statement yesterday, Friday [May 21, 2021], Fatah said that… it will continue its struggle regardless of the price until achieving its aspirations for freedom, return, and independence…

Fatah called on all its members, its people, and its [Fatah] Shabiba [Youth Movement] to continue the popular resistance activities in all the points of friction with the occupation until it retracts all its measures, in addition to the need to continue our struggle for the sake of freedom and independence because the battle is continuing.”

While Rajoub was interviewed on the international Arabic news network Asharq News, Abbas’ Fatah Movement posted it on its official Facebook page. Palestinian Media Watch has exposed numerous statements by Rajoub in support for terror and against normalization with Israel, and has also documented that Facebook is a willing partner with Fatah in its promotion and glorification of violence and terror.

The following is a longer excerpt of Rajoub’s statements:

Posted text: “Fatah Movement Central Committee [Secretary and] member Jibril Rajoub: What happened in Jerusalem, the West Bank, inside the [pre-]1967 [borders] (i.e., violent Arab riots inside Israel; see note below), and the Gaza Strip shows that the occupation is in distress, as this is the first time that the Palestinians are agreeing as one. The Fatah Movement’s entry into an armed battle is on the table of the Central Committee, and we will also raise this before the factions, because Fatah is the one that brought about the outbreak of the revolution.”

The posted video shows an interview of Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub with the international Arabic news network Asharq News.

Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: “In our estimation – we the Palestinians – this situation requires we [Fatah] take a position and also the international community, which understands the scope of the fascist and Nazi state terror that is being carried out against the Palestinians, regardless of where they live…

We in Fatah are seriously thinking of reexamining all the rules of engagement with the occupation. In the national dialogue [between the factions], we are striving to formulate a policy or strategy of struggle that has a political aspect, a legal aspect, but also an aspect of confrontation with the occupation so that this policy will rest on a strategy agreed upon by all elements of the Palestinian people and all the Palestinian national action factions. We are convinced that the conflict [with Israel] has reached the stage that either the world will give us a solution or we will continue the cycle of blood and killing – and the killing and suffering will not be only among the Palestinians or only on the Palestinian side.”

Asharq News interviewer: “That leads us to the question: How realistic today are the possibilities that have been raised that Fatah will enter an armed confrontation with the occupation – one of the methods that perhaps you meant, and I will let you [answer] the question – in the West Bank, as happened in the 2000 [second] Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005, more than 1,100 Israelis murdered); and what about Jerusalem?”

Jibril Rajoub: “That possibility is on the table of the [Fatah] Central Committee, and we are seriously discussing this matter. We will also raise this matter in our discussions with the factions. If the world wants to push us into a corner, we are not the only ones who will die, and we are not the only ones who will suffer. As far as we’re concerned, the struggle with all its forms is a means, and the goal is ending the occupation. We own the armed struggle. We [Fatah] are the ones who brought about the outbreak of the revolution – us, us, us! We will not continue to [merely] boast about the past, but if there is a need for us to return to bearing arms, I say that we – starting with the Central Committee and down to the last of the lion cubs in the movement (i.e., child members of Fatah) – we are all potential Martyrs. However, we are fighting so that we will live and so our people will live. We hope that the international community will pick up on the [emotional] turmoil and the feeling of bitterness that exists among all the Palestinians, who have begun to defy death and prefer death over a life of humiliation, suffering, and hardships under the rule of the neo-Nazis who are a danger to us, our security, our stability, our [Arab] oil, and our interests. But I tell you and all the Arabs and Muslims: We are remaining here, and here we are standing firm. Our only choice is unity on the project of the [Palestinian] state and determining the means and methods of the struggle and resistance.”

Fatah/Hamas Riot and Rocket War 2021

Headline: “Fatah: Our struggle will continue until freedom and the activities to thwart the occupation’s plot in Sheikh Jarrah will continue”

“The Fatah Movement welcomed the cessation of the Israeli aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip (refers to ceasefire reached between Israel and Hamas, after Hamas launched rocket barrages and Israel responded with a defensive operation; see note below -Ed.).

In a statement yesterday, Friday [May 21, 2021], Fatah said that our people stood firm and sacrificed itself to defend its land, and it recorded an additional epic in its epics of heroism that have not stopped since the invaders attempted to steal the land.

It added that our people, wherever it is, is standing as one in the battle to defend Jerusalem, the holy sites, and the land, and it will continue its struggle regardless of the price until achieving its aspirations for freedom, return, and independence…
