PA rallies around terrorist role model
In the Palestinian Authority, the more horrific the terrorist, the more glory that the PA bestows upon him.
That's why one of Fatah's most murderous terrorists, Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) responsible for the murder of 125, is one of the PA's most popular and celebrated symbols 38 years after Israel ended his reign of terror.
Palestinian Media Watch has documented that Abu Jihad is memorialized in numerous ways throughout Palestinian society: schools, halls and sporting events are named for him, and the anniversary of his assassination in April 1988 has become an annual ritual for glorifying Abu Jihad and indoctrinating new generations to follow in his terror footsteps.
This year the ritual repeated.
Official PA TV news reported on one of the many events commemorating the great "leader":
Fatah Tunis Branch Secretary Bassam Ayoub: "We will continue to be loyal and will continue to adhere to the same path that was walked by brother Abu Jihad…
Official PA TV reporter: "During the activities, a report was presented reviewing the life story of leader Abu Jihad, mentioning the struggles (i.e., terror) he waged together with the rest of the PLO leaders for the homeland and for defeating the cruel occupation."

Fatah's Shabiba youth promised more violence in the terrorist's name:
"On this anniversary, the [Fatah] Shabiba [Youth Movement] renews its promise to remain on the ground as a voice for the intifada and an unbreakable willpower against the occupation (i.e., Israel).
The path begun by the Martyrs does not stop but rather continues with the generations who believe that Palestine is worthy of struggle (i.e., terror) until victory, until freedom, and until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
‘Let us continue the attack'"

The terrorist mastermind was honored at an official gathering in Ramallah, the heart of the PA government, heavily attended by politicians, dignitaries and community leaders:
Ramallah Governor Laila Ghannam: …Martyr leader Khalil Al-Wazir (Abu Jihad)… was an example of giving, dedication, and tireless national activity…
His name will remain present in the hearts of our people and the future generations.

With mass murderer Abu Jihad perennially hallowed as the supreme Palestinian hero, there is no question that the PA government is driving its people towards more terror. Any talk about Palestinian Authority reform is still a wishful fantasy and willful blindness.
