Jews “control everything, infiltrate deeply,” and their “prominent trait is usury” – antisemitic Palestinian Authority daily columnist on PA TV
PA TV: Great writers knew the truth about the Jews:
"Shakespeare… spoke about their prominent trait, which is usury"
"Henry Miller… anyone he wants to curse he describes as a Jew"
"Western European countries… heed what Goethe and Charles Dickens said… about the Jews"

Official Palestinian Authority TV recently promoted classic antisemitic hate speech by serving as a stage for Hassan Hmeid, a regular columnist of the official PA daily. Hmeid repeated the libel of Jewish "global control" and collective "cruelty" while blaming Jews for economic problems by bringing up old lies about "usury." He also said that the Europeans should heed the writings of great writers whose works had also included Antisemitism. By choosing to air these vilifications, official PA TV continues to amplify explicit hatred against Jews and Israelis that mirrors historical defamation:
Official PA daily regular columnist from Syria Hassan Hmeid: "There is a kind of selfishness in them [the Jews], thinking they control the entire world. If you go to New York... they control everything, from a small shop to a shoemaker sitting in a one-square-meter space. They control it, not to mention publishing houses and movies, etc.They infiltrate deeply… Until now, the Western European countries, which were supposed to heed what [authors] Goethe and Charles Dickens said, all these people (i.e., the authors) spoke about the Jews. They [Europeans] need to see them and recognize them. They [the authors] said these [Jews] are children, when these children grow up, they will be crueler. They [Europeans] need to read their uncle Shakespeare, of whom we are proud. What did he say? He spoke about their [the Jews'] prominent trait, which is usury."

Hmeid has previously distorted classic literature to claim and "prove" that Jews possess inherently negative traits:
Hassan Hmeid: "There were groups of Jews who had things that made people feel—people in Europe or Czarist Russia or in Iran or India or Africa or all over the world, or in Austria… They said [about the Jews]: 'This is bad and undesirable behavior, and it needs to be dealt with.' When you read what was written in those days—I'm talking about the previous centuries, from the Middle Ages to what they call the Enlightenment—there's very clear [Jewish] behavior. If you read [the literature of] the Americans, for example Henry Miller's Tropic of Capricorn, anyone he wants to curse he describes as a Jew. With the Russians, [writer Ivan] Turgenev… he always says that someone in the camp was 'a traitor and a Jew.' If you move to the subject of property, you'll see ugly things… We have many examples… of assassinations of people on the international stage who supported the Palestinians. People who said that what is happening now is impossible [to tolerate]. All these people—the artists and intellectuals, the students and lecturers who spoke about genocide—they are all in danger of assassination [by the Jews]."

Palestinian Media Watch has exposed that Hmeid frequently makes such antisemitic statements about Jews and Israelis:

Along with it he has brought in other types of control, the most important of which after money is the control of the media. He has used money to buy everything – conscience, intellect, and freedom."

A report showing how the PA demonizes Israel, the Jewish state, released recently by PMW, included a statement by Hmeid libeling Jews and Israelis as "barbaric, blood lusting and racist."
